Hydrotherapy alternates hot and cold elements - steam, hold/cold showers, sauna and soaking tub to detoxify and improve overall well-being.
The process is rich with benefits:
- Releases endorphins
- Decreases stress
- Elevates mood
- Increases levels of melatonin
- Improves sleep quality
- Increases immune function
- Improves circulation
- Flushes toxins
- Decreases blood pressure
1 - Shower
To cleanse off the day. A temperate shower is best. Not too hot or cold. Begin to relax the body and mind.
2 - Steam
I recommend about 5-7 min in our aromatherapy steam room. We use Eucalyptus, Peppermint and Lemon. Breathe in the aroma, open your pores, and begin to sweat out toxins. Good for your lungs, skin, mind. Note* Our steam room is VERY HOT so be mindful of how you feel!
3 - Shower Again!
This is to cool the body down which helps flush out the lymphatic system get flushed out. Thus removing toxins faster than they would normally. The areas important to get cool/cold are under the arms, groin, and neck area, where much of your lymph lives.
4 - Soak
I recommend soaking for 10 min or so in the tub. Great for relaxing your muscles, joint pain, mobility, releases endorphins which helps to naturally decrease pain and improves circulation and relaxation. *It is easy to say too long in the tub, but this can cause lightheadedness, and nausea. ***If you have been fasting, under the weather or drinking alcohol it is very important to be mindful of how you feel! and limit your time in all the hydro elements.
5 – RInse
To continue the lymphatic flushing and to cool down in-between hot hydro elements.
6 - Sauna
This is where your body can continue to sweat out toxins, pores begin to tighten, you can sometimes lay down and really allow the relaxation to sink in.
7 – Cool Down
FINISH WITH A COOL DOWN SHOWER: INDOOR OR OUT! A VERY important part of the process! RINCE UNDER ARMS, NECK, GROIN. Allow the body to fully cool down.
